Improvsario Nicholas Turner

This is what I'm working on for my big Dragon*Con costume (and also for the improv troupe Mr. Friskett) as it appears in my mind (I'll most likely post photos of the finished product when I get them).

I have the hat, shirt, cravat, vest, jodhpur trousers, boots and gloves. I just got the tailcoat from my friend Bettina who did a gorgeous job translating my designs into reality (although I must add that I made the epaulettes by hand myself and am very proud of them), and the gun is almost done, save for some minor painting, cleanup and other small chores. I attached a do-it-yourself music box that I programmed to play "girl from Ipanema" to it (kind of an inside joke), so that as I turn the crank that spins the drum, not only does animation play in the zoetrope, but the music plays as well. One hell of an undertaking, but it's almost done and I think it will be rather cool once it's all finished and together.

Nicholas Leonardo Turner is intended to be the master of ceremonies for Mr. Friskett's shows, given the title of Improvsario (the impresario of improv). His name is made as a tribute to my late grandfather: Leo Nichtern.
