Keep at it! You've got some good looking exageration in your work already and it'll only get better as you practice. Best thing for me was taking a job for two summers at a theme park drawing caricatures when I was finishing high school. Since I had to draw dozens of people a day and hundreds before I was done with the season, I saw a lot of people and drew a lot. I also got to work with people whose work I liked and picked up technique watching them and just seeing their work.

Looks like you've got a decent grasp of shapes in your Tarsila character design. Just push those shapes farther when you're caricaturing and see where it takes you. Sometimes doing some very small thumbnail drawings of the person you're going to caricature can help you get broad and stretch before translating that to the final.
