Sinestro the Sorceror: I've already got my Green Lantern as a magical type, so Sinestro as an evil sorceror seems natural. I took the kind of star pattern on his regular costume's mantle and used that as a theme throughout the wizard's robes.
Master McItspitlk: Mr. Mxyzptlk is a small, magical trickster, so I decided to make him Irish (thus the Mc in the surname) and a Fir Darrig. Think of the Fir Darrig as a more tricky, prankish cousin to Leprechauns. Full of drink, but none of the work ethic of their cousins, and they don't horde gold, though they might grant wishes. In general, they take a fondness to a house, a family or a person, and then 'haunt' them forever. They can be won over, but are also extremely tempermental and will take offense at the smallest, percieved slight. All of which seems to fit well with the basic M.O. of Mr. Mxyzptlk, and would be an interesting way to see him played.
Solomon Grundy: Just a big, hefty farmer who worked land by the swamp where the air is thick and disease runs rampant. He took ill and died at work, was dragged away by animals into the swamp where he sank and was burried, but rose again a monster, only to die, sink away and rise again. He'd go on to inspire a children's rhyme that would get passed on like "Ring Around the Rosey" until everyone who knows the tune forgets the meaning. Not much difference from the regular, old Solomon Grundy, mostly just a wardrobe change.
Mercenary Slade, Son of William: Deathstroke is already a pretty medieval looking bad guy without my help, so the tweeks here are minor. He's got a hood instead of his mask because I think the weathered man with the white hair and the eyepatch already looks fearsome and good in a medieval setting. I played up the chain mail a bit more, replaced guns with extra knives, swords, a staff and a crossbow. I'd like to see him played very much as a loose cannon mercenary, willing to fight hard for top dollar and a challenge, but completely detached from anybody else's ideals.
Slade, of course, is my favorite of the four. The detail in the mail adds a nice touch.
Very well done, as usual. Your representations of the characters are great.

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter." --

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

Would-be bard extraordinaire, seeking only to be a source of amusement and/or joy. Don't book me for parties though, I'm a lousy clown.
